Wikipedia says that the Internet is a global system of computer networks interconnected. What you see in the image taken from the title Opte Project, is the only fragment of the network map. Clear that the map does not all have computers connected to the network. Thousands of them to come down every day during the month of completion. The fact remains - the Internet grows.

Almost too difficult to decide on the birth of the Internet. A simple search on Google will give you a lot of different opinions: some say that more than thirty years, while others say it was more like twenty. However, for the purposes of this chapter, let's just say the network was born on August 6, 1991, when Tim Berners-Lee has introduced his idea of the World Wide Web at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland. After all, most users Casual entire complex structure of the Internet is reduced to every-day mark in the three magical letters into their browser - WWW.

Let us go back and see what people think the internet before birth. Interestingly enough, it seems that the people who care about e-business more than they do about sharing information. The first video from 1969 and somewhat accurately describes the concept of e-business. Without a doubt, the way we imagined it looked funny, but the concept was right:

Articles with the video you can find the blog (resource box)

The second video is a bit more recently - is said about the report from the year 1981 talking about this great new (still before the internet) read the paper on the discovery of your computer screen. This is not a concept, but existing technology reports. However, it serves as a great example of how fast things developed:

So what the internet like today? Well, you can see the visuals again, but it does not t help much, right? How about some numbers then?

Asa Dotzler, Mozilla founder of Quality Assurance and Testing Program, made a very simple calculation. He says:

Bagan is a mash up almost 40 different data sources used for market share, that the foundation, browser, internet connected computer, and operating system. Working through all that data, I can come up with something that I think about the user's web browser of growth and change during the last 13 years.

Perhaps the most real people will find out this type of calculations quickly, but this chart should be less attractive because of it. So here is your sentence:

What this table tells us? Well, first of all, there are approximately 1.2 billion (almost 1.4 foundation Tungsten | Alpha) of Internet users around the world. This is almost 20% of the world's population. Also, it is rather interesting to see that while Firefox and other browsers are more popular, it really wasn t saa cost Internet Explorer. IE only uses slow, which means that new Internet users choose an alternative browser like Firefox more often. But that's not what this article is about, so just go here.

In just fifteen years under the network has become part of our lives every day. As we have said before, the Internet is not (re) defines every aspect of our lives every day: the forms of economic, social life, from the way we do business, through our fun. Most of us may think or go for days or a week without the internet. For some of us have a real addiction and there are even clinics that specialize in treating this disease with the Games and alcohol use computers.

So, what's going to take us in the future? Difficult to predict, but there are some things that we have. This obviously will have a greater spread Internet-enabled consumer electronics. Argus that the PC, PDA, phone or the Internet allows something new today, but what about the Internet allows the refrigerator and toaster? True, all this technology is ready, but it was not widespread.

Technology, allows us to connect to the network will grow to the point. At least, existing technologies like Wireless-N protocol, and WiMAX will be more prominent.

And maybe, just maybe we will finally see a true smart house: the symbiosis of artificial intelligence and Internet connectivity to encourage and control every aspect of the house. Why maybe? Well, maybe today, but the problem is that a few kilometers is necessary cables to connect everything. So until we have wireless electricity or other alternative, it remains just possible ...
